Since 2011, our firm has overseen the operations and executive management of the Mt. Prospect Avenue Neighborhood Improvement District in Newark’s North Ward. On October 28 we celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the classic car show event that the organization started in 2013: The Mt. Prospect Avenue Hot Rod and Classic Car Show.

Congratulations to the board of the Mt. Prospect Partnership for their continued leadership in driving important economic development activities throughout the Mt. Prospect Avenue corridor. Special thanks to our amazing team members for all of their hard work and effort in organizing the event: Jerry Blankman Paula Pinto, Danielle Russell, PMP, Alison Tulli, Matt Christensen, and Jerry Rafalovich.

It was a special day for many reasons, including the fact that after being rained out twice previously this year, we finally scored a beautiful day for an outdoor event. Equally positive was the added excitement and attendance driven by the annual North Ward Halloween Parade, which we decided to coordinate jointly this year with our council representatives and municipal partners. Special thanks to North Ward Councilman, Anibal Ramos Jr. and Councilman, Luis Quintana for suggesting the partnership and helping us create an amazing community event.

The afternoon was filled with great fun, food, and music, but most importantly, it was an afternoon of great conversations about how far the district has come and the bright vision for the future that is shared by so many.

That inspired vision for the future is spurred today by consistent incremental changes in quality of life, visual improvements, and community engagement, which over time has built investor confidence and has positioned the district to take full advantage of anticipated economic and community investments, including the City’s up-zoning of key blocks and the promise of greater connectivity and recreation through the planned Essex-Hudson Greenway.

Looking forward to so many more great days ahead for this amazing community!
